This is where the custom of relaxing in the mountains during the winter season was born more than 150 years ago. This resort is extremely elegant, which makes it has enjoyed unflagging popularity among rich, famous people from around the world for years. The world’s greatest athletes, actors, politicians, and members of noble families regularly visit this place. Luxury brand stores and exclusive 5-star hotels can be found at every turn. In Sankt Moritz, 350 kilometers of pistes await skiers on the Corvatsch, Corviglia and Diavolezza. Both beginners and professional skiers will find something for them. 70 kilometers of trails are artificially snowed. Communication between the ski areas is via ski buses.

A recommended luxury hotel in Sankt Moritz is the Bardutt’s Palace. It is one of the most expensive establishments of its kind in all of Switzerland. It offers a view of the Engadine Alps and Lake Sankt Moritz. This hotel has been in continuous operation since 1896. It has an indoor pool and 6 restaurants. This is another destination that is very popular among skiers. Ski stations are located in the north and center of the country – in the Alps and Apennines. A significant proportion of skiers choose to spend their winter vacation in the Dolomites. This is hardly surprising – in addition to the fabulous, breathtaking scenery, tourists can count on more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Over the mountains clash air waves from the Adriatic Sea and the central Alps. Popular destinations are the stations of the Trentino region, such as Val di Sole and Val di Fiemme. The slopes of twelve resorts form the world’s largest ski system operated by a single ski pass. We are talking about Dolomiti Superski, which consists of more than 1220 kilometers of trails of varying difficulty.
Worth a visit Italian ski resort is Cortina d’Ampezzo, also called the Queen of the Italian Dolomites. Here waiting for tourists hundreds of kilometers of trails and ski lifts, of which up to 95% is artificially snowed. In 1956, the Winter Olympics were held here. Currently, every year in Cortina d’Ampezzo are organized World Cup competitions in alpine skiing.

In 2006, it hosted the Winter Olympics.
