The golf courses on this list are sure to meet the expectations of even the most demanding athletes. The elite clubs, however, are open only to a select few who have been invited by their members.
This is where the Masters Tournament has been held since 1934. This makes Augusta one of the most famous golf courses in the world. It was founded by famous golfer Bobby Jones and investor Clifford Roberts. The former designed the course personally, in collaboration with the architect – Alister MacKenzie. Until 1990, Augusta National Golf Club did not admit black people and women. Currently, the list of its members includes 300 people, including Bill Gates. A special invitation is required to be on the list.
This is one of the oldest golf courses in the world, its history dating back to the 15th century. A number of unique solutions were applied here, such as a green shared by 2 separate holes. the Open Championship tournament has been played here 28 times, including its first edition in 1873. Triumphs on the Old Course were won by Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros and Old Tom Morris, among others.
A golf club that was founded in 1744. It has sand terrain, rises above the quay line and features a non-standard layout of holes. 9 of them run clockwise and 9 run counter-clockwise. What also distinguishes this club is that only men can become members.

It is famous for its 3 holes stretching over the Pacific Ocean. Hole 16 is the longest and is right on the water. The club is open to regular members and their guests only.

A private club founded in 1891 that has 36 holes. When a tournament is played, it organizes a combination course with 12 holes in the western part and 6 in the eastern part. This type of combination was inaugurated in 1959 when the Canada Cup was held here. Royal Melbourne Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Australia.
Established in 1913, this club has 600 acres of land and is located in an area covered with pine trees. It is a mysterious place where only those with connections or those with significant sporting success can get in. Only men are members of this club. Women can only play as guests on Sundays.
This golf course is located in the middle of the Foret d’Ermenonville, which is one of the three largest forests located north of Paris. There are currently 450 members of the club. In order to play this famous golf course, you must receive an invitation from one of the members.
